Drain Stencil Project Volunteer

Want to become a Drain Stencil Project Volunteer?

The Cairns Drain Stencil Project is a community engagement project that reminds us that our neighbourhoods are connected to the ocean via the urban stormwater drain system. Drain stencils are messages on drain inlets, they are a means of prompting thought, as well as engaging the community in a fun, hands-on activity that promotes an improvement to the quality of our waters.

As a volunteer give up some of your time to explore new suburbs, spray paint stencils of beautiful marine creatures and raise awareness that “this drains to the Great Barrier Reef”.

Current volunteer opportunities for the Drain Stencil Project are for Manunda, April 2018. For more information on the Manunda stencilling head over to this page.
