The ban on single-use plastic bags is finally coming into effect here in Queensland, Sunday 1st July 2018! It is about time but it is not enough.
Plastic in the ocean is estimated to outweigh fish by 2050.
Grab your friends, family and colleagues and let’s all go plastic free for this July. Help to raise awareness and create change in your circle of influence.
Say NO to all single-use plastic items, just the Top 4 (straws, plastic bottles, plastic bags, coffee cups) or make your own custom pledge (eg. plastic-free workplace, classroom, or travel).
Sign up for a day, a week, or the whole month. Take an individual challenge, or galvanise your friends, colleagues, or students and do the challenge together!
Maybe you will even be inspired to turn your plastic-free challenge into a life-long habit.
Plastic Free July went off with a bang last year as scores of Far North Queenslanders pledged to break old habits by choosing to refuse single-use plastic.
